Article 29: Education should develop our talents and abilities.

Newcastle University worked with us to think about self-similar patterns that can be found in nature, our bodies and all around us. We thought about how we could measure the coastline and what would happen if we zoomed in each time – the coastline increased in length each time.

We then drew two of our own self-similar patterns – the Koch Curve and a Sierpinski triangle.

We reflected on the skills we needed for today’s activity: curiosity, creativity and logic. Some of us have definitely been inspired to think about a career in STEM following today’s workshop.
