Article 29: Education should develop our talents and abilities.

We visited the National Glass Centre in Sunderland to support our current science unit. During the morning, we completed some investigations around reversible and irreversible changes.

We then watched a glass blowing workshop where we were able to see the changes in glass – from a molten liquid into a solid.

One of us was even lucky enough to have a go at the glass blowing process.

Finally, we were able to complete a glass fusing workshop. We designed our own tile before using glass squares, grains and sticks to make our design. We are looking forward to our pieces being collected but first they must go into a kiln to fuse then cool over a two week period so the tiles don’t crack.
