artistic activities.

This week we have been learning about keeping healthy and clean. The children learnt a nursery rhyme called ‘Miss Molly had a Dolly’. In this rhyme a little girl had a very sick dolly who needed some help from the doctor. The children talked about what made Miss Molly’s dolly feel so poorly. They heard about germs that we can get on our hands. The children learnt that they need to wash their hands regularly throughout the day so they don’t become ill, and especially after using the toilet, before eating and after using messy play materials.

The children followed some sequence cards to help them to wash their hands well. They used soap, warm water and then dried them with a paper towel. The sequence cards are now in our bathroom to make sure that we can keep our hands clean every time we visit the toilet.

After learning about germs, the children got busy being doctors and nurses. After listening to a story about Maisy Mouse’s visit to the hospital, they used the different tools in the doctor’s bag to take special care of the dolls and toys in the Nursery.
