Article 8: Every child has the right to an identity.
We have been celebrating all of the languages our class speak including: Punjabi, Bengali, Latvian, Polish, Kurdish, English and French – the language we all learn in class each week.
Members of the class came to the front and modelled how we could greet each other in their home language and talked about some of their favourite foods from their culture.
We then researched some of the languages we had talked about to help us learn more about our friends and share to our culture and language with each other.
To end our afternoon, we practised our spoken French and tried some traditional French cuisine.
We have definitely had the right to learn and use the language and customs of our family.
We love that we are such a diverse class!
