Firefighters Visit Year 2

Article 13 – Children have the right to share freely with others what they learn, think and feel by talking, drawing, writing or in any other way unless it harms other people.

Article 28 – Every child has the right to an education.

In history this half term we have been learning about The Great Fire of London, focusing on our enquiry question: “What changed because of the Great Fire of London?” We have learned that one of the changes since the Great Fire of London in 1666 was that we now have a Fire Service. Year 2 were very fortunate to have a visit from Tyne and Wear Fire Service. Firefighters told us about their role and they showed us the different equipment that they have and use on the fire engine – we were very lucky and even got to try some of it before the firefighters got called to an emergency!
