Article 14: Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights.

On Thursday 20th June we celebrated Eid ul-Adha (‘Festival of Sacrifice’) as a community together. This is one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar. The festival remembers the prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son when God ordered him to. As a Right Respecting school we believe all children and their families have the Right to practise their religion in school.

As a school community we celebrated with decorations, music, arts and craft and we shared a range of food. As a community we celebrate a range of festivals and this is always one of our most popular events, many of our families celebrating by showcasing traditional dress of their home country to display their heritage.  Thank you to everyone who came along and contributed in some way. The food was simply delicious, the school was buzzing and the sun shone – what a lovely evening!
