Article 31: We have the right to take part in artistic activities.
In art we are studying the work of Francesco Lietti. who creates dynamic cityscapes. We have been looking at how he builds layers, uses bright colours, and texture through collage and mixed media to show the energy of urban environments. We walked to Gateshead Quayside to sketch the bridges and buildings along the River Tyne as a starting point for our own paintings insired by Francesco Lietti. We will look to turn these initial sketches and ideas into a painting to create a feeling of what we saw; just as Letti.
“I like the idea of painting a feeling,” Lietti says. “It’s my feeling of a place. I don’t want to be accurate. I want to depict my thoughts, feelings, and memories.
