Celebrating Diwali

Article 14: Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights.

In year 1, we have enjoyed learning about the festival of Diwali. We understand that the festival is celebrated to represent good over evil; light over darkness. As Diwali means ‘row of lights’ we have created our own lanterns to represent this. We enjoyed using our knowledge of recycled materials and created our lanterns using milk bottles.
