Welcome to South Street Community Primary School
Welcome to South Street Community Primary School’s website. This has been designed to provide you with useful information about our school and so that you can get a taste of what makes our school so special.
I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of such a happy and inclusive school. We welcome children and families from all backgrounds and appreciate the diversity they bring.
Our ethos is to support the children to be “The Very Best They Can Be”. This is not just academically but also in being the best person they can be in terms of how they treat others and their aspirations for themselves. Our values are simple: Be Safe. Be Kind,.Be The Best You Can Be.
The children here are lucky to have amazing teachers and teaching assistants who help them to learn well and have high expectations of what the children can achieve but who also really care about the children and look after their wellbeing, safety and personal development in our ‘home from home’ environment. All our staff look after the children here and aim to bring out “their very best”. This includes our administrative staff, our Family Support Worker, our caretaker, cooks and cleaners.
The positive support from our parents and the wider community is vital and we encourage working together in partnership for the benefit of our children.
Governors are also an important part of our school and contribute to ensure it truly is a great school.
Our curriculum is interesting, exciting, and relevant. It provides children with broad and balanced learning opportunities, delivered by very knowledgeable staff. Visitors and visits are a huge contributor in enhancing learning for our children: they bring the curriculum to life.
We will keep you updated on this website with the range of fantastic experiences that your children have had the opportunity to be part of.
It is our vision that the children of South Street leave us as happy, successful, aspirational and empathetic young people, eager for the next stage of learning in their lives and respectful towards the exciting differences of cultures in modern British society.
In our school we foster a whole family atmosphere where children feel confident to express their individuality, their talents and know that success in any aspect of their lives will be celebrated. We currently have 30 languages spoken in school. This adds to our unique nature. South Street is an exciting place for your child to learn and develop at the centre of our vibrant community.
